Joe Faisst
Estherville – Funeral services for Joe Faisst, 74, will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Estherville, with burial in St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery.

Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. tonight at Fuhrman Funeral Home, Estherville. Friends may call at Fuhrman’s until time of services Friday.

Mr. Faisst succumbed at his home Tuesday evening as a result of a heart condition.

Born June 7, 1902, at Cologne, Germany, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Faisst, Mr. Faisst grew up in Germany and served in the German Army during World War I.

He came to the United States in 1919, first living in the Spencer and Terril areas. He also served overseas during World War II with the United States Army.

Faisst married Mildred Landmesser at Estherville on June 25, 1945. He operated the Star Sawmill here until his retirement. He was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Mr. Faisst is survived by his wife, Mildred. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, April 22, 1976)
