Henry Theesfeld
Recitation of the Rosary for Henry Theesfeld, who passed away at the Windom Hospital on Wednesday, August 29th, was at the Hanson Funeral Chapel on Thursday evening 8 p.m. Funeral services will be this morning (Friday) at St. Francis Xavier church with Father Cowley in charge. The body will then be taken to the Theesfeld home at 1421 2nd Avenue at 8 p.m. Friday evening. Recitation of the Rosary will be at the home.

On Saturday morning at 10:30 p.m. from St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Estherville, Iowa, funeral services will be conducted.

Eight sons to Mr. Theesfeld will be pallbearers.

Interment will be in St. Patarick’s Cemetery at Estherville, Iowa.

Henry Theesfeld was born in 1884 [December 30, 1883] in Germany. He came to the United States in 1900 and located at Varina, Iowa. Here he found employment.

In January, 1913 Henry Theesfeld and Barbara Wagner were united in marriage.

Fourteen children were born to them, two having died in infancy.

Mr. Theesfeld farmed for a good many years and was forced to retire because of ill health. Mr. and Mrs. Theesfeld moved to Estherville, Iowa, in 1928, later returning to Windom where they were living at the time of Mr. Theesfeld’s death.

He leaves to mourn his passing his wife, eight sons and four daughters. The children are Julia (Mrs. George Reuland of Superior, Iowa), Viola (Mrs. Melton Kingsley), Kansas City, Mo., Marie (Mrs. Dale Roberts), Estherville, Iowa), Coleen (Mrs. Jack Janako), Lakefield, Harold, Wallingford, Iowa, John, Albert, Anthony and Duane of Estherville, Thomas who is at home, Ronald of Kansas City, Mo., and Wayne who is stationed at Cocoa Air Base in Florida. He also leaves to mourn his passing twenty-three grandchildren as well as a host of friends. (Windom Reporter, Windom, Minn., August 31, 1951)
