Ettie Holmes Dies After Long Time of Illness
Mrs. Ettie Holmes, [Emma Etta Hormel Holmes] who has been in failing health for some time, passed away last Thursday [December 4, 1947] evening at her home on So. 15th Street. She has been a long time resident of this city.

The funeral services were held on Wednesday afternoon at two o’clock at the home and at 2:30 at the Methodist Church, the Rev. Cecil J. Semans officiating. Interment was in the East Side cemetery.

The deceased is survived by one son, Percy, and a daughter, Mabel Reymore of California. (Estherville Enterprise, Estherville, IA, December 11, 1947)
