Miller Service Held Monday
George Miller, 64, died Friday [February 28, 1930] -----. Because of his poor health he was forced to quit work for the Rock Island, Feb. 13. Mr. Miller became seriously ill Saturday, Feb. 22, and was taken to a local hospital the following Monday.Funeral services were held Monday morning at the Catholic church. The Rev. Father Veit officiated. Burial was at the Catholic cemetery.
George Miller was born Feb. 20, 1866, at Breidback, Bavaria, Germany, and came to Spirit Lake with his parents when he was 17 years old. On June 3, 1896, he married Miss Mary C. Fitzpatrick and they resided in Spirit Lake until 1917, when they moved to Estherville. To this union four children were born, George A. and Pierre, who preceded him in death and Joseph and Kathleen of this city.
Besides his wife and two children in this city, Mr. Miller is survived by his mother, Mrs. Barbara Miller, 88 years old, of St. Cloud, Minn., four sisters, Mrs. Mary O’Donnell of Nevada, Mr. Gertrude Mack of St. Cloud, Minn., Mrs. Rose Doyscher of Orlando, Fla., and Mrs. Anna Locham of California; four brothers, Lewis of Fullerton, N.D., Edward of Oakes, N.D.,Joe of Lodington, Mich., and Ferdinand of Mesa, Colo. One sister, Mrs. Dora Smith of Grand Junction, Colo., preceded him in death.
Out-of-town friends and relatives who were resent at the funeral were Mrs. Merry O’Dannell of Nevada, Mrs. Gertrude Mack of St. Cloud, Minn., Lewis Miller of Fullerton, N.D., Mrs. Bert Sarazine and Leo and Estherv Sarazine of Comfrey, Minn., F.J. Fitzpatrick of Newton, William, George, and Harry Miller of Alpha, Minn., Mr. and Mrs. Dan Sarazine, Charles Sarazine, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Schneidawind, Jr., Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Kuhn, Mrs. Annie O’Dea and Miss Lena Schneidawind of Spirit Lake and John Kuhn of Slandreau, Minn.
