Rites to Be Monday for C.J. Hennick
Clarence J. (Clat) Hennick, 76, died at his home at 1211 1st Ave. S. yesterday morning at 11 o’clock. He had been ill for the past four years and his condition grew worse the last year.

Mr. Hennick was born April 7, 1886 at Cambridge, the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Hennick. He received his education in rural Story County schools.

On July 1, 1912 he was married to Etta Henderson at Emmetsburg. They moved to Graettinger in 1910 where they farmed until 1933 when they moved to Estherville where Mr. Hennick worked as a carpenter until his retirement in 1959.

He is survived by his wife Etta, two sons, John and William of Estherville; seven daughters, Mrs. Merle (Delma) Mercer, Atchison, Kan., Mrs. Bertha Mustard; Mrs. Mary Huffman; and Mrs. William (Vera) March, all of St. Paul; Mrs. Charles (Nina) Able, Omaha; and Mrs. Dale (Beulah) Linn; and Mrs. Wilhelm Linn, both of Estherville; 19 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two brothers, Charles of Cambridge and Irv of Maxwell, and two sisters, Nellie King and Ida Leland of Cambridge.

Mr. Hennick was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Lloyd, four brothers and one sister.

Services are set for Monday at 2:00 p.m. at the Sternborg-Reese Chapel. The Rev. Rawlin Johnson will officiate with burial to be in the East Side Cemetery.

Friends may call at Sternborg-Reese beginning Sunday morning until time of services on Monday. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, April 21, 1962)
