Funeral Held for Mrs. Hendricks
Funeral services were held Friday for Mrs. Cecil Hendricks of Canton, who died Tuesday, Feb. 11, from a cancer. Services were held in Canton and the Mahlum and Anderson Mortuary here. Burial was at the East Side cemetery. The Rev. W.A. WinterStein of the Methodist church officiated.Cecil Chamberlain was born in 1887 [1886 per cemetery records] in Hartley and moved to this city in 1893. She lived here until 1912 and then moved to Canton, S.D. She was married to Antona [Carl Anton] Hendricks in 1914 at Canton. Her husband owns and operated a restaurant. Her father, mother, and brother, Lloyd, preceded her death.
Besides her husband she is survived by three brothers, Charles A. of this city, L.M. of Hammond, Ind., and A.S. of Buffalo, N.Y., four sisters, Mrs. J.M. Shepman of Rockford, Ill., Mrs. Elmer Odegaard of Canton, S.D., Mrs. J.C. O’Rourke and Mrs. Stella Johnson of Minneapolis. (Estherville News, Estherville, IA, February 20, 1930)
