Wallingford Woman Dies; Rites Saturday
Mrs. Charlie Haas, 69, died Wednesday [August 20, 1969] morning at 10:30 of a heart seizure at her farm home near Wallingford.She was born Edna May Fisher, June 18, 1900, at Somonauk, Ill., to Mr. and Mrs. William Fisher. She was married in February, 1939, to Charlie Haas in Sioux Falls, S.D.
She came to Palo Alto County as a child with her parents and was educated there.
Following their marriage they farmed for one year near Elmore, Minn. They moved north of Estherville until seven years ago when they moved to a farm south of Wallingford.
Mrs. Haas is survived by her husband, Charlie; one son, Meril Billings, Estherville; two daughters, Mrs. Wayne (Lillian) Davidson, Ringsted, and Mrs. Helen Prentice, Estherville; two step-daughters, Mrs. William Helmick, Jr., Estherville, Mrs. Meril Billings, Estherville; 15 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Nina Cogdal, Utica, Ill., and Mrs. Grace Mosher, Sumner; four brothers, Harold Fisher, Ayrshire, Robert Fisher, Algona, Delbert Fisher, Walker, Minn., and Orrie of Chisagoa City, Minn.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Fuhrman Funeral Home with the Rev. Kenneth Fogelman officiating. Burial will be at East Side Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Fuhrman Funeral Homer any time Friday until time of services Saturday. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, August 21, 1969)
