Hold Services For Mrs. Bessie Guile
Mrs. Bessie Guile, mother of Mrs. Harriet Walsh and William Coleman of Milford, died of a heart attack Friday night at the Spencer Municipal Hospital where she had been a patient six days. Since the death of her husband, Mrs. Guile, 77, had made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Walsh, the past six or seven years. She was a longtime Dickinson and Emmet County resident.

Funeral services were held Monday at 1:30 p.m. in the Leyson Chapel, Milford, with the Rev. John Kirby of Union Memorial Church officiating. Soloist, Mrs. Don Hansen sang “The Old Rugged Cross” and “In the Garden” accompanied by Mrs. Frank Fellows, organist. Pallbearers were nephews Elmo Coleman, Lyle Alexander, Ralph Thomas, Jim Harrison, John Erdman and Francis Erdman. Interment was made in East Side Cemetery at Estherville.

Mrs. Guile was born August 4, 1884, at Oelwein, Iowa, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Thomas.

Survivors include her daughter, Mrs. Walsh of Milford and two sons, William Coleman of Milford and John Coleman of Waterloo. (Milford Mail & Terril Record, Milford, IA, May 24, 1962)
