Funeral Held Today for Mrs. Fisher
Funeral services for Mrs. Addie Cornelia Fisher were held at 2 p.m. today at the Sternborg funeral home and at 2:30 p.m. at the Baptist church, the Rev. G.E. Forssell officiating. Burial was in Eastside cemetery.Mrs. Fisher was born March 1, 1866, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jim Lane in Hamilton county. She died last Friday [January 23, 1953] at University hospitals in Iowa City. She married William S. McKinney in 1883 and the couple became the parents of four children, two of whom preceded her in death. On May 21, 1893, she married Winfield J. Fisher and four children were born to this union. Mr. Fisher and one child preceded her in death.
She had been living at the Alice Tupper rest home here until she fell and broke her hip on Jan. 10. She was taken to University hospital where she died at 5:30 p.m. Friday at the age of 86 years, 10 months and 23 days.
Surviving her death are a sister, Mrs. Rose Fisher of Spirit Lake; five children, Mrs. Edwin (Jennie) Deibner of Rockford, Ill., Ellis McKinney of Sidney, Neb., Ira Fisher of Fort Dodge, George Fisher of Estherville and Mrs. William (Mildred) Keller of Fort Dodge, Mrs. Leo (Loretta) Partello of Fort Dodge; a granddaughter who was reared by the Fishers; and 22 other grandchildren, several great grandchildren and great, great grandchildren and other relatives.
