Charles Farris
Estherville – Funeral services for Charles Edward Farris, 92, Estherville, will be 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Henry Funeral Chapel with the Rev. James Harmon of the Christian Church officiating and burial at the East Side Cemetery. He passed away Monday [March 24, 1975] evening at the Good Samaritan Center.

Mr. Farris was born Oct. 29, 1882 in Marshall County to Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Farris. His parents died at an early age and he lived in an orphanage in Davenport until he was 15 when he moved to Ohio with a sister. He was married to Cora Elwick Aug. 7, 1916 at LeMars and farmed southwest of Wallingford. He had been a member of the Christian Church.

Survivors include his wife, one son, Earl, Estherville; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, four brothers and four sisters.

Henry Funeral Home, Estherville, is in charge of arrangement where friends may call. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, March 26, 1975)
