LeRoy Dahna Services Scheduled for Thursday
LeRoy William Dahna, 60, of Estherville died of cancer Jan. 1, 1973, at Holy Family Hospital.

Services will be held Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at the Estherville Lutheran Church with the Rev. Oscar Engebretson officiating. Interment will be made in East Side Cemetery.

Mr. Dahna was born May 7, 1912, at Estherville to Mr. and Mrs. William Dahna. He was educated in Estherville schools and married on Sept. 20, 1934, to Virginia L. Hansen in Jackson.

A lifelong resident of Estherville, he operated the Hoffman Garage and later worked for the Tobin Packing Co. and for John Morrell and Co. for 24 years. He retired in 1972 because of ill health. He was a member of the Estherville Lutheran Church.

He is survived by his wife, Virginia of Estherville; two sons, Ronald Hansen, Fairmont, and Raymond Dahna, Estherville; four daughter, Mrs. James (Betty) Loewenberg, Edina, Minn., Mrs. Darlene Olson, Estherville, Mrs. Merlyn (Lorraine) Thornburg, Estherville, and Mrs. Dale (Donna) Port, Norfolk, Va.; 23 grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Tena Bugg, Fort Dodge, Mrs. Esther Lee, Estherville, and Mrs. Mabel Brady, Estherville; three brothers, Glen Dahna, Vern Dahna and Francis Dahna, all of Estherville.

Preceding him in death were his parents, five sisters, one brother and one grandson.

Friends may call at Reese-Henry Funeral Home in Estherville after 3 p.m. Wednesday until 9 a.m. Thursday when the body will be taken to the church to lie in state. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, January 2, 19730
