Mrs. Margaret (Jasper) Carey, 91, died Monday [October 12, 1970] at the Holy Family Hospital in Estherville.

She was born June 16, 1897 [1879], at Shelbina, Mo., the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Campbell. She lived in the area until her marriage to Jasper Carey in 1897, and in 1901, they moved to a farm near Armstrong, where they farmed before moving to a farm southeast of Gruver. They retired from that farm and moved to Estherville. Carey died Nov. 6, 1961

Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Mary Alice Grems, Estherville; one son, Charles, Sacramento, Calif.; seven grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren; and one brother, John Campbell, Estherville.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and two brothers.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Fuhrman Funeral Home in Estherville, with John McClure officiating. Burial will be in the East Side Cemetery.
