Girl Killed in Crash
Beverley Brown of Roseau, Minn., formerly of This City, Suffers Broken Back
Miss Beverley Brown, 19 year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clyde S. Brown, formerly of Estherville, was killed Monday as the result of an automobile accident near Grand Forks, N. Dak., where she was taking nurses training.

The Browns are now living in Roseau, Minn. Prior to moving there, they had lived in Estherville and are well known here.

Miss Brown suffered a broken back, broken jaw and was badly bruised.

The body was brought here for burial Funeral services took place Thursday afternoon at 2:30 in the home of Hazel Bemis, Mr. Brown’s aunt. Burial is in the Oak Hill cemetery. (Vindicator and Republican, Estherville, IA, August 13, 1942)

Pastor Gives Life Details of Beverly Brown Heacock Who Died Last Week
Beverly Brown Heacock, elder daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clyde S. Brown, was born November 16, 1922, in Estherville.

She received her schooling in Estherville, Sac City, Iowa Falls and Thief River Falls, Minn., graduating from the high school at Thief River Falls when she was 17.

September 4, 1941, she entered nurses’ training at Grand Forks, N.Dak. hospital. August 10, she was returning to her work after spending Sunday with her parents, when the car in which she was riding got out of control and went into the ditch. She died in the Grand Forks hospital a few hours later.

She was married to Darwin D. Heacock at Crookston, Minn., on February 23, 1942.

She professed her faith in Christ, accepted Him as her life’s friend, and served Him to the very best of her ability. Her membership was in the Thief River Falls Methodist church.

She has gone to be with her Christ. There to await her loved ones in the happy reunion where death enters not.

Those who attended the funeral aside from the immediate family, from out of town, were Mr. and Mrs. Fred Brown of Fort Dodge, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Brown, Jr., and Dick of Racine, Wis., Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Coon of Waukon, Minn., Oliver Indquist of Fort Dodge, Don Heacock of Indianapolis, Ind., Mr. and Mrs. Claire Coon of Lake Park, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Coon of Fort Dodge, Capt. Harry Brown, Sr., of Enid, Okla., Mrs. Julia Strong and Mrs. Vane Bright of Sac City, Mrs. Ralph Fox, Mrs. Elmer Fox, Mrs. Arnold Sampson, Mrs. Albert Jensen, Mrs. Rose Harris, Mrs. Stephens of Graettinger, Mr. and Mrs. Jens Egeland, of Wallingford, Miss Francis Grey and three other friends from the Gates Dry Goods company of Fort Dodge.
