Mrs. Evelyn Bormann Dies at Age of 50
Mrs. Evelyn Thelma Bormann, 50, born and reared in the Estherville community, died at 3:30 a.m. Sunday of a diabetic condition.Mrs. Bormann was born Oct. 13, 1911 in Estherville, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Kinnard. Her education was received in the Estherville schools.
In 1938 she was married to Louis J. Bormann in Estherville and for 12 years after their marriage they lived in Omaha. She later returned to Estherville. At one time she was employed at the local J.C. Penney and F. W. Woolworth stores. For the past two years she had been employed by her brother, William, assisting him in the dairy business.
Mrs. Bormann was a member of the Catholic Church.
Survivors include her mother, Anna, two sons, Thomas of Estherville, Francis of Milwaukee; one daughter, Mrs. Douglas (Patricia) McPherson of Milwaukee; three brothers, William Kinnard, Thomas Edwin Kinnard and Robert Kinnard, all of Estherville, and two sisters, Mrs. Ernest Hanson of Estherville and Mrs. Lars (Ellen) Thomsen of Wallingford.
Her father, one brother and one sister preceded her in death.
Rosary will be recited Tuesday at 8:30 p. m. at the Sternborg Reese Chapel. Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Sternborg-Reese Chapel, the Rev. James Duhigg of Estherville, will officiate. Burial will be in the Eastside cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home beginning Tuesday morning until time of services on Wednesday.
Pallbearers will be Dale Marriott, John Hanson, John Kinnard and Eldon Garrelts. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, March 12, 1962)
