Mrs. Earl (Edith Viola) Book, 67, Estherville, died, Oct. 31, 1972, at Holy Family Hospital of cancer.Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Presbyterian Church with the Rev. H. Allen Wirtz officiating. Burial will be made in East Side Cemetery.
She was born Oct.31, 1905 and died on her birthday 67 years later. Her parents were Ira and Grace Swartz, Emmet County farmers. She graduated from Estherville High School in 1923 and taught rural school until her marriage July 25, 1927 to Earl Lee Book at Estherville.
Mrs. Book lived her entire life in Emmet County and Estherville and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Estherville.
Survivors are her husband, Earl Lee Book, her father, Ira Swartz at Good Samaritan Center, Estherville; three sons, Melvin of Overland Park, Kan., Ronald of Sand Point, Idaho, and Larry of Goodell; three daughters, Mrs. Dean (Shirley) Poyzer of Estherville, Mrs. Corbett (Alice) Bradeen of Estherville, and Mrs. Glen (Donna) Davis, Lake Park; 22 grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Otto Schaper of Estherville.
She was preceded in death by her mother, one brother, one sister and one great-grandchild
Friends may call at Reese-Henry Funeral Home after 10 a.m. Thursday until time of services Friday. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, November 1, 1972)
