I.B. Book, 68, Dies; Rites Are Held Wednesday
I.B. Book, 68, died Saturday at 4 p.m. at his home following an illness of six years. Mr. Book suffered a stroke three months ago and died following a heart attack.

Ira Bruce Book was born Feb. 12, 1877, [per WWI draft records, 1876] in Pennsylvania and came to Iowa when he was 21 years of age. Mr. Book was married March 26, 1899, to Goldie May Royer. The couple has farmed in Iowa since their marriage. Seven children were born to the couple, and one preceded the father in death.

Mr. Book is survived by his widow and six children, Donald, who is in the southwest Pacific, Herman of Des Moines, Loren of Sandpoint, Idaho, Mrs. Herb Dean of Spirit Lake, Lee of Estherville and Ethen who lives at home. (Vindicator and Republican, Estherville, IA, January 4, 1945)

Rites at Estherville for Ira B. Book, 68
Funeral services for I.B. Book, 68, were held at the Book farm home, 7 miles northwest of Estherville, Wednesday afternoon, January 3rd, and at the Baptist church in Estherville, the Rev. G. E. Forsell officiating. Mr. Book died late Saturday, December 30, 1944, after an illness of about three months.

Ira Bruce Book was born in Pennsylvania, February 12, 1877. He came to Iowa at the age of 21. He was married to Mrs. Goldie May Royer.

Mrs. Book and six children survive him. They are Donald, serving in the south Pacific; Herman of Des Moines; Loren, of Sanpoint, Idaho; Mrs. Herb Dean, of Spirit Lake; Lee of Estherville, and Ethan at home. One child preceded him in death.
