B. C. Bombarger Taken by Death
B.C. Bombarger, 76 years old, died Saturday [April 12, 1930] at his home in Huntington after an illness of two years. He has lived in Emmet county since 1891 coming here from Ford County, Ill. Funeral services were held yesterday at Huntington. The Rev. M. L. Carver of Dolliver officiated.Bartin [Barton] Christian Bombarger was born Nov. 15, 1853, in Hagerston, Washington county, Maryland. When he was four years old he moved to Indianapolis, Ind., with his parents. In 1873 he was married to Susan Amanda Clark and to this union seven children were born, six of whom survive. After a short residence in Indiana they moved to Ford county, Ill., where Mrs. Bombarger died at the age of 31. On August 4, 1895, he married Frances Mary Rowan. To them three sons were born. In the spring of 1891 they came to Emmet county and made their home on a farm near Huntington. Mr. Bombarger united with the church at an early age and has always been an active member.
He is survived by Frank Bombarger and Carl Oscar Bombarger of Estherville, William Edward Bombarger of Huntington, Ora R. Bombarger of Motley, Minn., Mrs. Grace Warner of Sandstone, Minn., Mrs. Fred Sharer of Dunnell, Min., Mrs. H. Stanwood of Pueblo, Colo., Elias Charles Bombarger of Milwaukee, Wis., and Mrs. Elizabeth Sanborn of Oakland, California.
Those from out-of-town who attended the funeral were Charles Bombarger of Milwaukee, Wis., Mr. and Mrs. Joe Warner of Sandstone, Minn., Mr. and Mrs. Orie Bombarger, Mrs. Herman Harvego of Motley, Minn., Charles Rowan of Webster City and Oscar, Nannie and Zelda Snyder of Rohlf.
