Estherville Man’s Rites Set Monday
Estherville – Earl Walter Bentley, 80, Estherville, died at 11:45 p.m. May 16 in Holy Family Hospital.Funeral services will be held at 1:30 pm. Monday in Reese-Henry Chapel with the Rev. James Harmon officiating. Burial will be made in East Side Cemetery. Friends may call at Reese-Henry Funeral Home after 7 p.m. Saturday and any time until services on Monday.
Mr. Bentley was born Sept. 10, 1893 in Montezuma to Mr. and Mrs. Peter Bentley. He was educated in Montezuma schools. He was married to Janet Myler on July 26, 1944, at Jackson. He farmed near Oskaloosa and in Minnesota and came to Estherville in 1944 to work for Tobin Packing Co. until his retirement in 1958.
Survivors include his wife, Janet, Estherville; four daughters, Mrs. Wayne (Marjorie) Russell, Estherville, Mrs. Roy (Myrtle) Caskey, New London, Minn., Mrs. Louie (Ruth) Fedderson, Estherville, and Mrs. Isaac (Madge) Miller, Spirit Lake; one stepson, Gerald Kiggins, Oklahoma City; 13 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother and three sisters. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, May 17, 1974)
