Services will be concluded at Eastside Cemetery, Estherville, Iowa. Military Graveside Services.

Roy Virgil Bendixen, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Bendixen, was born February 13, 1926, in Estherville, Iowa and departed this life on Monday, August 3, 1970 at the Veterans Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota at the age of 44 years, 5 months, and 20 days.

He received his education in the Estherville schools.

On September 13, 1944, he was united in marriage to Darlene Mustard at Jackson, Minnesota. The couple made their home in Estherville where he owned and operated the Estherville Auto Salvage for the past fifteen years.

He was a past member of the Estherville Junior Chamber of Commerce. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, serving two years in Europe during World War II, and a member of the United Methodist Church in Estherville.

Mr. Bendixen is survived by his wife, Darlene, two sons, Sp. 4 Bob Bendixen serving in Vietnam, and Ron Bendixen of Estherville; one daughter, Dee, at home; three brothers, Leonard of Estherville, Howard of Clear Lake, Iowa (Wisconsin), and Joe of Ames, Iowa; and two sisters, Mrs. Virgil (Irene) Reed of Spirit Lake, Iowa and Mrs. Elmer (Lavon) Brix of Bradley, Illinois. He has been preceded in death by his parents.
