Elmo Bartleman
Estherville – Funeral services for Elmo Bartleman, 64, Estherville, were 2 p.m. Monday at the Redeemer Lutheran Church in Estherville with the Rev. Stephen Wold officiating and burial at the East Side Cemetery. He died Friday [October 17, 1975] morning at the Methodist Hospital in Rochester.

Mr. Bartleman was born Nov. 18, 1910 at Ortley, S.D., to George and Johanna Anderson Bartleman and was educated in the Emmet Consolidated School. He was married to Lyle Anderson Feb. 12, 1933 at Estherville. He had been an engineer for the Rock Island railroad until his retirement on July 1, 1974. He was a member of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and the Redeemer Lutheran Church, Estherville.

Survivors include his wife, Lyle; one son, Larry, Polk City; two daughters, Mrs. Ron (Dixie) Riedemann, Wausau, Wis.; and Mrs. Mark (Peggy) Moreau, Estherville; five grandchildren; one brother, Ray, Detroit, Mich.; and two sisters, Mrs. Steve Hall, Albany, Ore., and Mrs. Lester Hanson, Estherville.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Henry Funeral Home, Estherville, was in charge of the arrangements. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, October 20, 1975)
