Mrs. Swen Person Dies
Mrs. Swen (Beda) Person, 79, longtime resident of Dunnell, died at 5 p.m. yesterday at her home there. She had been an invalid for the past two years.The former Beda Dahlstrom, she was born Dec. 30, 1880 at Dalarne, Sweden, and came to Martin County, Minnesota at the age of 11. She was married to Mr. Person on Nov. 14, 1902. The couple had celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 1952.
A resident of Dunnell for approximately 50 years, Mrs. Person is survived by her husband, Swen, a well-known carpenter there; two sons, Oscar of Truman, Minn., and Herbert of Joliet, Ill.; one daughter, Mrs. Milton (Elna) Barlow of Estherville; eight grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Dunnell, the Rev. Amos Lindquist officiating. Burial will be in Lake Fremont cemetery.
Strernborg Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements and friends may call there from Tuesday noon until 11 a.m. Wednesday at which time the body will be taken to the church to lie in state until time of services. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, February 23, 1959)
