George B. Anderson Dies at 85
George B. Anderson, 85, longtime Estherville resident, died early this morning at his home at 1201 1st Ave. S. in Estherville of complications of old age. Services will be Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at the Sternborg-Reese chapel. Burial will be at Eastside Cemetery. Friends may call from Friday morning until the time of the service.

Anderson was born Oct. 2, 1875 [per WWI draft record, 1874] in Mason City. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ole Anderson. He received his education at Emmet County schools and attended the former St. Ansgar College, St. Ansgar.

On March 10, 1911, he was married to Jessie V. Fritz at St. Paul, Minn.

Anderson came to Emmet County with his parents in 1879. He lived in Estherville ever since his marriage and in the same home for the past 65 years. He has been in the real estate and roofing contract business.

He was a member of the Estherville Lutheran Church.

Anderson is survived by his widow, Jessie, and three sons, George, Vernon and Leland, all of Omaha. He is also survived by one sister, Mrs. Nettie Koenecke and five grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers and two sisters. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, November 2, 1960)
