Mrs. J. A. Bringle Rites Are Saturday
Mrs. J. A. Bringle, 81, lifetime resident of this community, died at 5:15 yesterday afternoon at Holy Family hospital. Mrs. Bringle had been hospitalized since suffering a heart attack four weeks ago.Belle Herbranson, the daughter of Tolof A. and Margaret Herbranson was born Aug. 8, 1874, on a farm northwest of Estherville.
She was united in marriage July 8, 1893, to Jacob A. Bringle, the marriage ceremony taking place at the rural Herbranson home. Mr. and Mrs. Bringle farmed in the Estherville vicinity until 1941 when they moved to Estherville.
Mr. and Mrs. Bringle had observed their 60th wedding anniversary in July 1943 at the State Line church at Petersburg, Minn.
Survivors include five sons, Arthur T., Elwin O., Lubie and Claire R. all of Estherville, the Rev. Albert J. of Randall, and one daughter, Mrs. Kenneth Riley of Sepulveda, Calif., and a brother, Olaf Herbranson of Minot, N.D. Also surviving are 25 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her husband in 1945, an infant daughter, Gladys, two year old son, Raymond and three other children, Maurice, Elmer and Mrs. Jerome (Margaret) Hanson. Also preceding her in death were her parents, three brothers, Ben, Albert and Elmer and two sisters, Mrs. Thomas (Mabel) Bockman and Mrs. George (--) --.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at the Bringle home, 521 North 12th street and at 2 p.m. at Estherville Lutheran church, the Rev. Gjerde officiating. Burial will be in the State Line cemetery.
Friends may call at Sandin Funeral home from – tomorrow until 1 p.m. at which time the body will be taken to the Bringle home to lie in state until time of services. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, April 19, 1956)
