Mrs. Walsh Rites Friday
Funeral services for Mrs. Ellen Walsh, 87, who died Jan. 30, 1973, will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church with the Rev. Laurence Burns officiating and interment at St. Patrick’s cemetery. A rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. today (Thursday) at St. Patrick’s Church. Friends may call at Fuhrman Funeral Home, Estherville. Mrs. Walsh Rites Held
Services were held at 10 a.m. today for Mrs. Ellen Walsh, 87, who died Jan. 30, 1973, at Good Samaritan Center.

The Rev. Laurence Burns officiated at funeral services held at St. Patrick’s Church. Interment followed at St. Patrick’s Cemetery. Fuhrman Funeral Home, Estherville, was in charge of arrangements.

She was born Oct. 20, 1885 [Per cemetery records 1884] at Piper City, Ill., to Mr. and Mrs. John Rellihan, and received her education in Piper City schools. On May 20, 1905, she was married to Thomas Walsh in Piper City. In 1915 they came to Iowa and farmed in the Superior area until his death in 1948. Mrs. Walsh was a member of St. Patrick’s Church, Estherville.

She is survived by four sons, Joseph of Storm Lake, Bernard of Spirit Lake, Donald of Houston, Texas, and Vincent of Cedar Rapids; eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Catherine Hemphill of Spencer.

Preceding her in death were her husband, a daughter, Bernice, her parents, five sisters and three brothers.

Pallbearers for the funeral were Pat Bueltel, Don Foster, Virgil Johnson, Romaine Kathman, Bernard Logan and Russell Tow. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, February 2, 1973)
