Fernando Diaz Castorena, the son of Guillermo Diaz and Francisca Castorena, was born May 31, 1961, in Matehuala San Luis Polosi, Mexico. He died Sunday, August 9, 2009, at Avera Holy Family Health in Estherville, Iowa, at the age of 49 years.

Fernando lived in Texas, Michigan, Iowa and Colorado. He worked construction in Texas building the skyscraper in Austin and Dallas. He was united in marriage to Estela Awarado in Fairmont, Minnesota. He has lived in Estherville the past 16 years.

Left to cherish Fernando's memory are his wife, Estela of Estherville; two sons, Cutberto and Jose Hernandez; one daughter, Flor; one grandchild; his parents; two brothers and five sisters, Luciano Diaz, Jose Diaz, Maria Nelly Diaz, Marta Elvia Diaz, Maria Del Refujio Diaz and Maria del Consuelo Diaz.
