Orville Gilbertson Dies After Operation
Former Titonka Barber Buried Tuesday at Maple Hill at His Old Home
Married Nora Hagen June 15
Mr. Orville Gilbertson died Sunday at a hospital at Estherville, Ia. following an operation for appendicitis. He took ill Saturday a week ago at Varina, Ia., where he conducted a barber business while working in his shop. He fell to the floor and suffered intense pain for a hour or two. He was then taken to the hospital at Estherville by his wife. Sunday a week ago he was operated upon for appendicitis at 9 a.m. A week later he passed away from peritonitis. Mr. Gilbertson was well known in Titonka where he conducted a barber shop for four or five years. Early last summer he purchased a shop at Varina, Ia. On June 15th he was married to Miss Nora Hagen, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Hagen, Titonka. Following their marriage they began housekeeping at Varina and where they have since lived. Funeral services were conducted at Maple Hill from the home of his parents and interment occurred at the local cemetery, near his old home, yesterday. Mr. and Mrs. Hagen and other relatives were in attendance. (Titonka Topic, Titonka, IA, October 23, 1930)
