Mrs. F. G. Parsons, -- Passed Away Here Last Tuesday
After a month of patient suffering, Mrs. Frederick G. Parsons, passed away at the Coleman hospital last Tuesday [June 28, 1938] evening at – o’clock.

Mrs. Parsons was taken ill about three months ago and it was thought that the removal of her tonsils might relieve her --. Later, other complications set in and she was taken to the hospital. One week later a ---ation of doctors decided an operation was necessary. Her already weakened condition prevented the operation from being successful. For three days befor her death, life was in the – but apparently with little hope for recovery.

Attended Convent School
Helen Margaret Slattery was born in Varina, September 7, 1915. She was educated in the convent school “Our Lady of Good Counsel” at Fonda and was graduated in 1924 [34?]. After her graduation she lived with her parents in Fonda until June, 1936 when she came to Estherville as an employee of the Bun Merron – Salon. Later she was employed at Norma’s Beauty Shop.

She was united in marriage to Frederick G. Parsons, October 20, -- and they resided in apartment over the Grand Café.

Funeral Services
Funeral services were held in St. Patrick’s church this morning, Rev. L. J. Savage officiating. Burial was in the Catholic cemetery southwest of Estherville.

Mrs. Parsons is survived by her husband, her father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. William Slattery of Fonda, two sisters, Mrs. Ernest --, Pomeroy, Mrs. Peter --, Bonneville and one brother, Francis Slattery of Fonda. (Estherville Enterprise, Estherville, IA, June 30, 1938)

Miss Betty Parsons, Mrs. G. H. McKibben of Des Moines and Mrs. H. C. Koehler, Mrs. William Wengert of Sioux Falls, S.D., formerly of Estherville came here yesterday to attend funeral services for Mrs. Frederick G. Parsons, jr. Mrs. Wengert is the former Miss Jane Koehler. (Estherville Enterprise, Estherville, IA, June 30, 1938)
