Alma O’Connell Dead
Alma O’Connell, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John O’Connell, died at the home of her parents on north Thirteenth street at 2:45 Tuesday afternoon, Jan. 11th, of tuberculosis of the bowels. She had been sick for over a year. Funeral services were held at the Catholic church Friday morning and the remains interred in the Catholic cemetery.

Deceased was born at Webster City, Iowa, July 4th, 1887, and came to Estherville with her parents fifteen years ago. For some time she was employed in the local telephone exchange and was a very accommodating and trusted employee and very popular among her associates. Her untimely death seems cruel, indeed. Besides her parents, three sisters, Mrs. J. H. Scharfenberg, Gertrude and Birdie O’Connell, and one brother, Thomas O’Connell, are left to mourn her death. (Estherville Democrat, Estherville, IA, January 19, 1910)

Mrs. Jas. O’Connell of Jamaica was here to attend the funeral of Miss Babe O’Connell. (Estherville Enterprise, Estherville, IA, January 19, 1910)
