Fred Moellering, of Richland towship, passed away Saturday evening at the Coleman hospital in Estherville where he had been receiving treatment for several weeks. The funeral services will be held Tuesday at the Catholic church in Estherville. (Estherville Enterprise, Estherville, IA, February 20, 1935)

Fred Moellering was born in Illinois, March 17, 1885, and died Feb. 16, 1935, of Hotchkins disease at the Community Hospital in Estherville. He grew to manhood in Illinois and then came to the Milford and Spencer locality where he joined the Catholic faith in 1915 and was married to Frances Kiebel. One daughter was born to this union. He was divorced in 1928 and Mrs. Caroline Gephart has kept his home for the past seven years while farming in Richland township.He leaves to mourn his daughter, Dorothy, his sister-in-law, Mrs. Caroline Gephardt, children, and four brothers, Henry of Truman, Minn.; John of Chicago; William, of Rowan, Iowa; Grover of Rock Island, Ill.; three sisters, Mrs. Dora Siebert of Rock Island, Ill.; Janet Moellering of Peru, Ill.; Mrs. Lydia Ruppert of Peru, Ill. He has two brothers, Ed and Charley, and a sister, Carrie, his mother and father precede him in death.
The funeral was held Tuesday morning at the Catholic church at Estherville and burial at Estherville. (Spirit Lake Beacon, Spirit Lake, IA, February 21, 1935)
