Henry Long, 77, Dies Today
Well Known Local Resident Passes After Weeks Illness; Lived Here 29 Years
Henry Long, sr., passed away at his home here at 1:25 p.m. today. Mr. Long was 77 years of age but had been in good health until about two years ago. His last illness was of short duration and he was confined to his bed only a week.

Born in Germany, Mr. Long had lived in this city 29 years. Mrs. Long [Josephine Bender Long] passed to her reward 17 years ago.

Funeral services will be held from St. Patrick’s catholic church, Thursday morning, with Rev. L. J. Savage in charge. Interment will be made in the Catholic cemetery.

Surviving Mr. Long’s passing are six children, five daughters Mrs. Emily Bryan, Mrs. L. P. Rodenborn, Des Moines; Miss Lena Long, Mrs. Emanuel Stavros and Miss Francis Long, and one son, Henry Long, jr., also four grandchildren. (Vindicator and Republican, Estherville, IA, January 11, 1938)
