Estherville – Mrs. Bess Larsen, 82, Estherville, died Thursday [December 26, 1976] afternoon at Rosewood Manor here.

Services for Mrs. Larsen will be 9 a.m. Saturday at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Estherville, with interment in St. Patrick’s Cemetery. Rosary will be said at Fuhrman Funeral Home here at 8 p.m. today.

Mrs. Larsen was born Jan. 27, 1894, [per cemetery records, 1895] in Estherville, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Patrick Howe. She received her education in Estherville schools and worked at the Emmet County Recorders office until her marriage to Fred G. Larsen on Nov. 29, 1922, in Estherville.

She was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Catholic Daughters of America, Altar and Rosary Society, American Legion Auxiliary and Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary.

Mrs. Larsen is survived by many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and nine brothers and sisters. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, December 27, 1976)
