Kelly Dies at Age 74
Michael Kelly, 74, retired Rock Island engineer, died yesterday at 11 a.m. at Holy Family Hospital. He had been in failing health for the past few years.

Michael Harris Kelly was born June 26, 1892, at Estherville, the son of Mr. and Mrs. M. J. Kelly. He received his education in Estherville schools.

Jan. 21, 1914, [per Agnes’ obituary 1913] he was married to Agnes Loretta McQuire [McGuire] at Albert Lea, Minn.

Mr. Kelly was employed as an engineer for the Chicago Rock Island for 50 years.

He was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus and the Brotherhood of Locomotive Firemen and Engineers.

He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Joseph (Mary Agnes) Mester of Detroit, Mich.; two son, Pat Kelly of Spirit Lake and William Kelly of Sioux Falls, S.D.; 12 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, December 24, 1966)
