Mrs. Mike Kelly Dies; Rites Friday
Mrs. Mike (Agnes) Kelly, 69, a longtime resident of the Estherville Community, died at 5:50 a.m. at the Holy Family Hospital. Mrs. Kelly died after an illness of 18 months.Born Jan. 21, 1893 at Twin Lakes, Minn., the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William McGuire, Mrs. Kelly received her education in the Twin Lakes and Albert Lea schools.
On Jan. 21, 1913 she was married to Mike Kelly at Twin Lakes. For the first six months of their marriage they lived in Lakota, then later moved to Estherville which they have lived ever since.
Mrs. Kelly is survived by her husband, Mike, two sons, Bill Kelly of Sioux Falls, and Pat Kelly of Spirit Lake, and one daughter, Mrs. Joe (Agnes) Mester of Detroit, Mich. One sister, Mrs. Fred (Nora) Henely of Estherville, one brother Martin McQuire [McGuire] of Twin Lakes and nine grandchildren and two great granddaughters also survive.
She was preceded in death by her parents and several brothers and sisters.
Rosary will be recited Thursday night at the Sternborg-Reese Funeral Home at 8:00 p.m.
Funeral services are set for Friday at 9:30 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Estherville. The Rev. Gerald Fisch will officiate. Burial will be in St. Patrick’s Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Herman Wiese, Mike Callahan, Oscar Isaacs, Oswald Tostenrud, Ed Rost and Tom Kinsella, all of Estherville. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, February 28, 1962)
