Death of John Howe
John Howe, one of the oldest citizens of Estherville, died Saturday morning at the home of his son, P. Howe, after a lingering illness of nearly three years. He was ninety years old at the time of his death and had been a resident of Estherville for twenty-one years. He enjoyed excellent health up to three years ago when he received a paralytic stroke and soon fell and broke one of his limbs. Since that time he has been confined to his bed constantly. Deceased had many warm friends in Estherville. Funeral services were held Monday forenoon at the Catholic church and the remains interred in the Catholic cemetery south of town. (Estherville Democrat, Estherville, IA, February 25, 1903)
