Rites to Be Thursday for Mrs. Howe
Funeral services for Mrs. Steve (Mary) Howe, resident of Emmet County for 65 years who died yesterday at 12:47 a.m. at Holy Family Hospital, are to be Thursday at 9:30 a.m. in St. Patrick’s Church, the Rev. Gerald Fisch officiating. Burial will be in St. Patrick’s cemetery. Rosary will be recited Wednesday at 8 p.m. at Fuhrman Funeral Home.

The former Mary Noonan was born Nov. 7, 1870 at Warrenville, Ohio, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Patrick Noonan. She came with her parents to Chester, Iowa, when she was seven years old and grew to womanhood in that community.

She was married in 1895 to Steve Howe, an engineer on the Rock Island for many years. Mr. Howe died in 1929.

Mrs. Howe is survived by two sons, P. C. Howe of Chicago, Ill., Donald Howe, of Dallas, Tex., one daughter, Mrs. R. S. McNeal of Crosby, N.D., four grandchildren and a number of great-grandchildren. Also surviving her death are a sister and three brothers and a sister-in-law, Mrs. Fred Larsen of Estherville.

She was preceded in death by her husband and seven brothers and sisters.

Friend may call at Fuhrman Funeral Home after 3 p.m. Wednesday until 9 a.m. Thursday at which time the body will be moved to the church. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, February 19, 1963)

Out-of-town relatives here for funeral services held yesterday for Mrs. Steve (Mary) Howe included Mr. and Mrs. R. S. McNeal of Crosby, N.D., Mr. and Mrs. P. C.
