She always had time to lend a helping hand or give a word of cheer whenever it was time to lend a helping hand or give room gave added comfort.

Surviving Mrs. Kane are one son, W. D. Kane, of Estherville, one daughter, Mrs. W. W. Gardner, a sister, Mrs. M. J. Laughlin, of Estherville, and a brother, P. C. Nolan, of Emmetsburg. (Vindicator and Republican, Estherville, IA, October 28, 1941)
