Estherville – Funeral services for Lambert William Hermsen, 66, Estherville, will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church with Father A. O. Grendler officiating and burial at the church cemetery. He died Wednesday [March 31, 1976] afternoon at a farm operated by his son west of Estherville.

Mr. Hermsen was born April 10, 1909 at Carroll to Mr. and Mrs. George Hermsen and was educated in the Carroll schools. He was married to Lena Hoffman Feb. 1, 1937 at Roselle. They moved to a farm west of Estherville where they farmed until 1970 when the moved to Estherville. Mr. Hermsen was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church.

Survivors include his wife, Lena, Estherville; one son, Melvin Hermsen, Estherville; one daughter, Mrs. Donald (Helen) Engstrom, Emmetsburg; three grandchildren; one brother, Vic Hermsen, Carroll; and one sister, Mrs. Henry Ventescher, Carroll. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.

Friends may call at the Fuhrman Funeral Home, Estherville, after noon Friday. A rosary will be said at the funeral home at 7 p.m. Friday. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, April 1, 1976)
