A.L. (Lou) Heinrichs
Requiem mass for A. L. (Lou) Heinrichs, 62, Estherville, former Carroll County resident, was read at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Patrick’s Church at Estherville. He died Jan. 3 at Holy Family Hospital, Estherville, following a four-month illness.The Rt. Rev. Msgr. James H. Duhigg officiated at the mass and delivered the sermon. Graveside rites were conducted by the Ref. P. J. Nooney of Manning. Serving as pallbearers were nephews, including Harold Waltz, Merle Bernholtz, Alvin Heinrichs, Maurice Heinrichs, Maurice Heinrichs, Carroll, and Robert Heinrichs, Wilmont, Minn.
Mr. Heinrichs was born at Breda on April 1, 1901. His marriage to Clara Bernholtz took place at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church on Sept. 30, 1930.
Surviving are his wife, five children, Mrs. Ray (LuJean) Fiedler, Minneapolis; Mrs. Merle (Cleora) Hansen and Ronald Heinrichs, Estherville; Verlin and Shirley, at home. Also surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Ben Neppl, Carroll, and Mrs. Helen Krogman, Halbur; six brothers, Lawrence Heinrichs, Halbur; Al Heinrichs, Maple River; Herman Heinrichs, Breda; Peter, Paul and Ted Heinrichs, Wilmont, Minn.; and one sister-in-law, Mrs. Angela Heinrichs, Dyersville.
He was preceded in death by one son, Duane Heinrichs, and by one brother, Frank Heinrichs, in March, 1963. (Carroll Daily Times Herald, Carroll, IA, January 7, 1964)
