Estherville – Joe Chapman, Estherville, died Friday [October 28, 1977]
at Rosewood Manor, Estherville.Services for Mr. Chapman were held Monday at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Estherville, with interment in St. Patrick’s cemetery. Fuhrman Funeral Home, Estherville, was in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Chapman was born Nov. 15, 1892, at Greeley, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Chapman. He was married to Vivian Ackerson in 1914 and after her death in 1917 he was married to Rose Bunt Nov. 11, 1919, at Armstrong. The couple lived in Estherville where Mr. Chapman was employed at the Iowa State Liquor Store until his retirement in 1916). Mrs. Chapman died in 1975.
He was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church and a member of the Knights of Columbus.
Mr. Chapman is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Chester (Maxine) Brown, Estherville; one son, John Chapman, Cloquet, Minn.; two step daughters, Mrs. Kenneth Belon, Duluth, Minn., and Mrs. Roy Corsi, Salt Lake City, Utah; one step grandson; and three step great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by both wives, one son, his parents, two brothers and one sister. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, October 31, 1977)
