Funeral services will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Church in Estherville for Mrs. Myrtle Kennedy, 67, Estherville, who died at Holy Family Hospital shortly after noon on Saturday [July 24, 1971].

Friends may call Monday and until the time of services Tuesday at the Fuhrman Funeral Home. A rosary will be said at 8 p.m. Monday. Burial will be in St. Patrick’s Cemetery.

Mrs. Kennedy was born Oct. 12, 1903, in Graettinger, to Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Carnahan. She received her education in Graettinger schools.

She was married to Raymond R. Kennedy at Emmetsburg on Oct. 6, 1920. The Kennedys made their home in Estherville. Mr. Kennedy died Aug. 30, 1951.

Mrs. Kennedy was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, the World War I Auxiliary, the VFW Auxiliary, and the Altar and Rosary Society at St. Patrick’s Church.

She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Donald (Marjorie) Walz, Ft. Dodge; a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Robert Kennedy, Walker, Minn.; five grandchildren, including Mrs. Dennis Black, Bemidji, Minn.; Mrs. C. R. Jackson, Anchorage, Alaska; Mrs. Larry Bradley, Ft. Dodge; Mary Jo Kennedy, Walker, Minn.; and Robert W. Kennedy, with the U.S. Navy at Whedby Island in Washington; two great-granddaughters and three nieces.

She was preceded in death by her husband, three sons, one daughter, her parents, and two brothers. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, July 26, 1971)
