Funeral Services Held Tuesday for John Benesh, 71
John Benesh, a pioneer farmer residing west of Wallingford, passed away last Saturday [March 30, 1935] at the Coleman hospital of Uremic poisoning. He had been ill for sometime past but was recovered from his former illness when taken ill a few days ago with the poisoning.

Mr. Benesh had been a prosperous farmer, attended close to his work, saved money and made use of it in a business like manner. He was a man who said but little, but his friends were numbered by his acquaintances. He visited quite often at this office and we became to know him well and knew his worth.

He was born in Czechoslovakia, February 10, 1864. He came to this country at the age of twenty-eight, living in Tama county. He moved to this county in 1898 and purchased a farm near Wallingford.

He was united in marriage to Miss Frances Nochanicky in June, 1898, and to this union there were seven children born, five of whom are living. They are: Mrs. Lloyd Cohen, Mrs. Bert Reuland of Superior, and Mary, Amelia and Frank, living at home.

The funeral services were held on Tuesday morning at the Catholic church, the Rev. savage officiating. Interment was made in the Catholic cemetery south of this city. (Estherville Enterprise, Estherville, IA, April 3, 1935)
