Blood Clot Fatal to Mrs. Bacon
Mrs. Harold Bacon, 37, died at 7 p.m. yesterday of a blood clot at her home in Estherville. She had been confined to bed since her daughter, Margaret Sue, was born Nov. 8.

Mrs. Bacon was born June 10, 1914, in Sabula and attended grade and high school in Sabula, Dubuque and Mason City. She married Harold Bacon Dec. 12, 1933, and lived in Mason City for two years. Her maiden name was Margaret Madonna Greener.

For the past 16 years the Bacons have lived in Estherville where Mr. Bacon is employed at Sidles market. They live at 536 South Tenth street.

Mrs. Bacon was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic church, St. Rita’s circle and the Margaret Maniece PTA.

She is survived by her husband, five boys, William, 16; John, 14; Dennis, 12; Robert 8, and Richard, 6; two girls, Barbara Jean, 2 ½, Margaret Sue, 2 ½ weeks; six brothers, John Greener of Chicago, Joseph E. Greener of Dubuque, Ambrose Greener of Dubuque, Leo Greener of Davenport, Louis Greener of Marquette and George Greener of San Diego.

Funeral arrangements are pending word from a nephew in Dubuque who may officiate at the service. Rosary will be recited at the Sternborg funeral home at 8:30 p.m. today and at 8:30 p.m. tomorrow at the Bacon home. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, November 27, 1951)

Bacon Services Tomorrow
Funeral services for Mrs. Harold Bacon will be held at 9 a.m. tomorrow at St. Patrick’s church. Burial will be in St. Patrick’s cemetery. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, November 28, 1951)
