Death of Mrs. Ambrose Perry
Mrs. Perry, mother of Mrs. E. V. Swetting, died Tuesday morning at the home of her daughter after a week’s illness. She had been living with Mr. and Mrs. Swetting for the past two years. Mrs. Perry’s maiden name was Parmelia Woden. She was born in New Haven county, Conn., July 20, 1822. She was married in 1840 to Ambrose Perry at Sylvan, Mich., and in 1869 the family located at Berling, Wis., where they lived until 1880 when they moved to Emmet county, Iowa. In 1894 they moved to Everett, Wash., where Mr. Perry died in1906. They had four children, only two of whom are living, Mrs. Swetting and a son who lives in Seattle. Mr. Swetting accompanied the remains Tuesday evening to Berlin, Wis., where they were laid to rest near those of other members of the family. (Algona Courier, Algona, IA, December 3, 1909)
