Ambrose Perry Dead
Former Resident of Estherville Passes Away in Washington
Ambrose Perry, a former resident of the village of Swan Lake, died last Tuesday at his home at Everett, Washington. He was eighty-eight years old and had lived in the west the past ten years.

Mr. Perry settled in Swan Lake about twenty-five years ago, coming from New England, having acquired some land in this county. He afterward moved to Estherville and he and his wife made their home with their daughter, Mrs. E. V. Swetting. About ten years ago they moved to Algona and thereafter went to Washington. Mrs. Perry, who survives her husband, is eighty-four years old.

The decedent is well remembered among the older settlers. He was an enthusiastic republican, and took an active interest in the affairs of the party. He had many friends who will regret to learn of his death. (Estherville Enterprise, Estherville, IA, March 21, 1906)

Ambrose Perry Dies At Everett
Mrs. E. V. Swetting has received a message from Everett, Washington conveying the news of the death of her father, Ambrose Perry, which took place at his home in Everett yesterday afternoon. Mr. Perry had reached the age of 88 years. He was formerly a resident of Estherville, but before going west ten years ago he and Mrs. Perry lived for a time with their daughter in Algona. The deceased was widely known here and had many personal friends who will mourn his death. Mrs. Perry who survives her husband, is 84 years old. – Upper Des Moines Republican.

Ambrose Perry was for a number of years a resident of Center township in this county and was highly respected by his neighbors. As he advanced in years he moved to Estherville and lived here until about ten years ago, when he and Mrs. Perry removed to Algona to be with their daughter, Mrs. E. V. Swetting. He was familiarly known as “Judge” Perry and a man of many excellent qualities. (Vindicator and Repubican, Estherville, IA, March 21, 1906)
