Word was received here that Joe W. Pannell of Estherville, Iowa, was killed at Denver, Colorado Thursday [August 28, 1941] evening when he was hit by a car while crossing the street. The former is the father of W. H. Pannell of this place. The W. H. Pannell family have been visiting for several weeks with relatives in California and are enroute home, but they have not been located at this writing. Several radio messages have been given out in an effort to locate them. Funeral arrangements have been delayed pending the arrival of W. H. Pannell and family.
