Elderly George Woman Dies After Long Illness
Mrs. Olson Buried at Estherville Wed.
George – Mrs. Josephine Olson died shortly after 8 o’clock Sunday evening, October 13, at the home of her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Oren O’Keefe. She had been in poor health for many years. Her death was attributed to complications and infirmities of old age. She reached the age of 88 years, 9 months, 21 days. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at 1:30 in the Evangelical United Brethren church with the Rev. Robert F. John officiating pastor. Interment will be at an Estherville cemetery with Vogelaar Funeral Service in charge of arrangements.

Josephine Swanson was born in Stockholm, Sweden, on December 22, 1868. With her parents, she came to America at an early age. She was married to Swan Olson at Blue Earth, Minn., April, 1888. To this union were born four children. One daughter, Mrs. Anna Larson, preceded her in death, besides her husband and three brothers and five sisters. Surviving are: one son, Henry Olson of California; two daughters: Mrs. Dora Hubbard and Mrs. Oren O’Keefe of George, with whom she had made her home for the past 15 years. Also surviving are eight grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Mrs. Olson was affiliated with the Swedish Lutheran church, which she had joined in Sweden when quite young. Pallbearers were the following grandsons of the deceased: Glen Yates, Bruce Anderson, Ronald Schneck, Clayton Hubbard, Max O’Keefe and John Hubbard.
