Swan Olson, Local Business Man Was Laid To Rest Tuesday
Swan Olson was born in Heselholm, Sweden, September 25, 1849. He came to Iowa in 1888 and was united in marriage to Josephine Swanson the same years at Elmore, Minn. They lived in both Sioux City and Chicago for a short time; later at Ledyard and for the last 19 years in Estherville where he has operated a small shoe and harness shop.

He was always in good health until October 16th when he contracted an illness from which he did not recover and passed away January 9th. Besides his widow he leaves three daughters, Mrs. Oran O’Keefe of Lakota, Mrs. Anna Torine of Fort Dodge, Mrs. Ed Hubbard of Estherville; one son, Henry C. Olson of Algona and eight grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon from the Sternborg Funeral Home, the Rev. W. A. WinterStein officiating. Burial was in the Oak Hill cemetery. (Estherville Enterprise, Estherville, IA, January 13, 1932)
