Mrs. Warren Mortimore Dies at 49
Mrs. Warren Mortimore, 49, died at 6:40 a.m. yesterday at her home 615 South Ninth street. She had been ill with dropsy and heart ailment for about six years.

Mrs. Mortimore was born June 28, 1903, in Menlo and received her education there. She married Warren Mortimore Jan. 19, 1925, in Jackson, Minn. The couple lived in Guthrie county and then moved to Estherville about 18 years ago, where Mr. Mortimore has been operating Mortimore’s Grocery store on South Ninth street. Mrs. Mortimore was a member of the Christian church.

Surviving her death are her husband; three daughters, Mrs. Donald (Wilma) Dahl and Mrs. Stephen (Barbara) Molecek and Nadine; two sons, Warren B. Mortimore Jr. and Lester Mortimore, both of Estherville; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Michael Messinger of Spirit Lake. Also surviving her death are three brothers, Glen Messinger of Spooner, Wis., Lawrence Messinger of Sioux Falls, S.D., and Verle Messinger of Vista, Calif.; two sisters, Mrs. Duane Cave of Spirit Lake and Mrs. Alvin Morgan of Harris; two granddaughters and two grandsons.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Christian church, the Rev. Clyde Leeds officiating. The body will lie in state from tomorrow morning until 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Sternborg funeral home and at the Christian church through the funeral service. Mrs, Warren Mortimore, 49, of Estherville died Sept. 14 after an illness extending over the last six years, She is a sister of Mrs. Alvin Morgan, south of Lake Park. Mr and Mrs. Morgan attended the funeral there on Wednesday, Sept. 18. Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery. (Spirit Lake Beacon, Spirit Lake, IA, October 2, 1952)
