Mrs. Monroe Rites Set Monday
Mrs. Merle O. Monroe, 72, of Estherville, died Nov. 17, 1972, at Holy Family Hospital, Estherville.

Funeral series will be held at Fuhrman’s Funeral Home at 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 20. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.

The former Gertrude E. Heyman, Mrs. Monroe was born Feb. 15, 1900 [cemetery records say 1905], at Trinidad, Colo. She lived in Sioux City until Nov. 1, 1967, when she and her husband moved to Estherville. Mr. Monroe died Jan. 30, 1971. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. George W. Heyman.

She was a member of Grace Episcopal Church, North Star O.E.S., and Bethel White Shrine.

Survivors are a daughter, Mrs. A. R. (Betty) Robertson, Silver Springs, Md.; three grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, November 17, 1972)
