Francis Miller Dies at Iowa City Hospital
Francis Miller, 27, son of Monte Miller of this city died this morning at 5 o’clock at the University hospital at Iowa City. He has been confined to the hospital since last August with the exception of two months spent in Estherville this winter.

Mr. Miller has been in Iowa City with his son since Sunday and will accompany his body here tonight.

Francis was born in Estherville and has lived here practically all of his life, graduating from the local high school with the class of 1925.

Funeral arrangements have not yet been made. He is survived by his father and three brothers, John of Estherville and Paul and Richard of Moline, Ill. (Vindicator and Republican, Estherville, IA, April 17, 1934)

Services Today for F.M. Miller
Died Tuesday Morning at Iowa City
Funeral services were held this afternoon at the Mahlum and Anderson chapel for Francis M. Miller, 27, son of Monte Miller, who died Tuesday [April 17, 1934] morning at the University hospital at Iowa City after an illness of nine months. The Rev. A. G. Bailey of the Presbyterian church officiated at the services. Burial was at Oak Hill cemetery.

Pall bearers were John Rhodes, Ole Johnson, Maynard Johnson, Arnold Goecke, Francis Shadle and Elmer Sumpter.

Francis Miller was born July 11, 1906 in Estherville and with the exception of three years spent in Oklahoma he has always lived here. He was graduated from the local high school in 1925.

He is survived by his father and three brothers, John of Estherville, and Paul and Richard of Moline, Ill. He is preceded in death by his mother.

Mrs. Walter Bishop and son John of Cedar Falls and Mrs. Edward Bates of Anamosa arrived here today to attend the funeral. Mrs. Bishop and Mrs. Bates are aunts of the deceased. (Vindicator and Republican, Estherville, IA, April 19, 1934)

Mrs. Edward Bates of Anamosa, Mrs. Walter Bishop and son, John, of Cedar Falls, left the first of the week for their home after a visit with Mr. and Mrs. Monte Miller. They also attended the funeral of Frank Miller which was held here on Thursday. Mrs. Bates and Mrs. Bishop are sisters of Monte Miller. (Estherville Enterprise, Estherville, IA, April 18, 1934)
